I have been lurking

I have been reading every few days but just haven't taken the time to post anything! But I have been knitting! Life has been really crazy and busy lately. Normal for summer time.



Here is the very start of a shawl I am working on.......

And an infinity eyelet scarf that should be done very soon.

And a couple completed items finally!!

Also continuing all my dish cloths for the different swaps i am in. So I have been with the needles.

Trying to figure out what to do for my dad's wedding coming up in September. But drawing a blank!!

Ohio tornado season has ripped through my life......

We had a tornado hit down the road a few weeks ago but that's not what I am talking about. My life has been completely over turned lately. And I was so embarrassed to share but it has been eating me up!

My husband and I are recovering alcoholics and addicts. I have 20 months sober today and my hubby just had 31 months, and then he relapsed twice in less than a week and was missing for 3 days. Complete agony. And then he came home to get more money to use up and ended up hitting me. So I pressed charges and he is now sitting in jail since last Wednesday and will be til at least the 1st. My kids are confused. I am torn. And my two year old just keeps asking for daddy. We could all use some major prayer!!! Everyday I just ask God to carry me through and help me to do his will.

Now I am just trying to figure out how to pay rent and the bills and such since he went through ALL the money!
I HATE THIS DISEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Alcoholism!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ARRRHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love my husband. But as long as he is in his disease....he can't ever come back!!!

HOLY COW

Feels like I have been off of here forever!! LOL We have just been so crazy busy!! School ending kept us busy! But now its summer. And an actual picture of knitting!! I forgot to take a pic after the blocking of course but I was pleased with it especially being my first shawl! Any one know of another pretty easy beginning shawl pattern? I got the itch now!! Mainly I have been working on lots and lots of dish cloths. Quick satisfaction......

Just some random shots of the family, we love cookouts, fires, fishing, riding go carts and dirt bikes. Pretty much anything out doors.

Momma doesn't like the Ohio humidity though AT ALL!!!!! I swear if I could find a place that is sunny and 70 to 75 all year I would move in an instant!!

Yesterday 5/23/2010 was mine and Dustin's 1 Year Wedding Anniversary!! This is quite a big deal!!

The kids woke us up to wonderful surprises!!! French toast and coffee in bed!!! Gifts, a play and this beautiful blanket!!!

They were sooooo excited that they but on their wedding cloths from last year. They were toooo cute!

And check out the gorgeous flowers!! All my favorites!!

Then the hubby took we to dinner all by our selves!! Woot woot. That was amazing in itself.

Can't wait to see what this year brings for us!

And now today .......back to reality lol

Hmmmm

Man I really couldn't come up with a title today LOL. My mind feels kinda squishy. I am tired. No new news there. That seems to be the theme lately!

So I actually finished a knitting project last night !! Woot woot. Pictures and description to come later. It is a gift for my Fiber Pen Pal. And I want her to be surprised!!

There is actually sun shining today. It has rained all week but it is to begin again tomorrow! Blah so tired of it.

Was trying to add a picture but it is not working so never mind I guess.

Love these guys! They love God and still are their spunky selves. My dad who is mid to late 50's and I went and saw them and dances together and laughed together!! It was an amazing time!!
My dad and I go to a lot of Christian rock and contemporary concerts together. Its a great way to hang out and praise God together. Which is also kinda weird. I was never very vocal about my faith, but through music it is possible.

The last week and a half have been a complete blur. So much going on and the kids school year is wrapping up in the next few weeks so lost of programs and such. AND RAINY WEATHER!!!!! Poohy I wish it would only rain when I am sleeping! That is not too much to ask is it??

So We went to my mother in laws for a cook out and play time. My boys love to be out doors!
Gage my 2 year old.....who must wear sun screen a hat and long sleeves to be out side and STILL BURNS!!!!

Looooong Sleepy Week

Well Well, I have been keeping up on reading lately but not posting.
My Dr. Has changes some of my meds and I have had a really hard time staying awake. Yesterday I literally fell asleep at my desk WITH MY BOSS in the same room!!!!!! I put a call into the Dr to see whats up. Full time job, 4 kids, meetings 6 night a week-------this is NOT going to work at all!!!

So I have been doing a little knitting. Still working on the baby blanket, getting lots of dish cloths out for a swap I am in, and trying to find a shawl pattern I love. have tried a couple and have ripped them out just because it just wasn't right!!

Tomorrow I have a Women Of Faith Conference I am going to and also on Saturday. I am pretty excited. I will have to let you know how it goes. Wish me luck to stay awake during it!!!

So my hubby needed my camera for work and has not returned it soooooo no pics like I wanted today!!!!!!

I have started making pretty lil stitch markers..yay the hubby bought me some tools, glass beads, wire, and toggles. I was so excited!!! And I love putting them together, after I look and feel and play with each glass bead lol. He also came home with a lime green (I LOVE GREEN) I Pod for my listening pleasure!!! I am now up to date (kinda)!!! I was really spoiled this weekend!!! He is the best.

So I have continued to work on dish cloths, dish towels, and suck for a swap I have joined. So quick and easy. Last week I picked up some tiny tiny lace yarn and cast on for an old 1818 vintage shawl. I work on it for a few moments here and there bc the lace is so tiny and the size 3 needles are well tiny LOL!!

I want to do another shawl also...........any suggestions?????????? I need to get going on something else also!! I need lots to work on because not much is keeping my attention for too long. Knit a bit on this a bit on that, whatever works right now!!
Today is sunny and beautiful! I need the sun on my face today.

Stuck in a Rut

Man do you ever just find yourself un-inspired?? I think that is where I am at!! I have cast a few things on and then just tore them off because I am just not into it! So I have done some quick mindless dish cloths and towels for instant gratification. And also I like to keep my hands busy. I think I just need to find something I am excited about.......hmmmmmmmm any ideas?? At least the sun is a shining and it is beautiful out. That at least puts a smile on my face.

Powerful Night of rememberence

Tonight I went with friends and family to the state house for Donate Life (Organ and Tissue donation). We were trying to make it in to the Guinness Book of World Records.

His mom was brave and decided to donate his organs and tissue for whom ever needed. So at any time there is a event we most definitely go. Such powerful speeches from people who had lost family members and those people who have received donations. It was a night to warm the soul.

Spring at my house means buying band aids in BULK

Ahh Spring time, playing outside, grilling out, getting the bicycles out and BAM!!! Major wrecks on the concrete. My sweet, loving, fearless motocross rinding boy got a little carried away last night on his spider man bike.



And this is the result. Both his hands and his legs are all cut up too. Once he quit bleeding from his nose and mouth, I realized I needed to cut off some major skin hanging from inside of his mouth. Gag!!! But he was sooooo brave.
Another day in the life I guess.
Then his 2 year old brother noticed he wasn't getting the attention so he started searching his body for cuts and bruises. Too funny!!

Finally completed the Prayer Shawl for Dustins Grandma. With only 3 mistakes LOL

Hated working with this yarn but, she wanted something very easy to take care of so I bit it and used the acrylic stuff.


I got to knit after Easter dinner.........


While the hubby handles clean up. I am very lucky!!

A few of my girlfriends (3 to be exact) are pregnant. So lots of baby knitting in my forecast!! Hope everyone is getting a touch of this spring weather. It is good for the soul!!!

Friggin Frustrating Frogging

Ahhh man what a night!! Went to a meeting earlier an took my project below along of course. Pretty simple pattern easy repeats.........so I thought.

At some point I noticed that many many rows back I has "got off" my pattern repeat ans it was waaaaaaaaaayyyyy of. So I started frogging it back. Easy enought right?


DEAD WRONG!!! I kept missing stitches ...I dont know what the problem was but finally, after wanting to cry, it is back on the needles and coming along again. Whew!!!

What a cute shop. The ladies were so sweet!

Met a woman who is willing to show me how to use a drop spindle for FREE!!!! Just have to pay $15 bucks for the spindle!! I am VERY excited.

Picked up some needles size 3 Audis!!! And size 11 Hiya Miyas??? Never used these HMs but it was the length I needed so we will see.

And picked up this merino lace from Skacel. 1375 yards of it. The picture does not show the true color. It is a very deep purple. So pretty and I didnt even know I liked purple!! LOL It was wispering my name,
I need to stop buying yarn before I have a pattern for it. Bad habit but I cant help it, REALLY I CANT!!

YUCK!

Home today from work SICK! Love getting days off of work but being really ill is no fun. Thinking about picking up the needles but also hear the bed calling my name.

My 5 year old qualified for nationals!!!!! This is quite a big deal. He loves to race his dirt bikes. (Yes he has 2). He has been riding since he was about 2 1/2. He just took off and now can barely get him off!!!
Busy race season has officially began.....................

Weekend Fun!

Lots of snugly down time with Cleo since the kids were all away this weekend. nothing like curling up with her. she seems so interested in all i am doing.

OOOOH AND SOME FUN SHOPPING! Some books!!!! and a little bit of knitting of course. Mostly in the truck as my hubby had lots of running around for us to do. I read all of the Friday night knitting club in 2 days. Loved it, till I couldn't quit sobbing. started on knit two.

For got to take pic of my Mad Hatter T shirt. Its in the wash now.
Love it. Makes me feel happy! Is it wrong for my 31 year old self to wear it??? I think not!!

And then of course I had to get my Copy of the New Moon DVD. So ready for Eclipse to come out!!!!!

Famly Stuff and a Lil Knitting

So the Hubby said it was time for the 2 year old to get a hair cut. I wasn't so sure. I loved his long hair, but it was getting hard to take care of!!!

I was tearing up while the barber was going to town on his long locks. So bitter sweet. He is the 4th child and we will have NO MORE!!!!! So its sad knowing my baby is growing into a little boy. He is now walking around saying "I am handsome boy!" He is right.

The hubby is at a conference this morning so its me and the kids. I wanted to attempt to start socks but NO WAY with the kids running around. That would be crazy!! So I am going to look out at the lake, watch the rain drops and work on the shawl I frogged since I learned I was purling wrong!!!! Feels so awkward now correcting it and really slowing me down. Practice, practice, practice!

Later we are going to see Alice In Wonderland in 3-D. I think I may be more excited than the kids!!! That's okay!!

So I did It!!

Yep went to the local Yarn shop (By Local I mean a 35 minute drive) And got some goods!!!

Alaskan Purl Was nice enough to suggest this book!! Thanks!!! So I went and got it and while I was there the nicest lady who works there sat me down and helped me start. So what is laying on the book is about 45 minutes of progress. She was so helpful, was a bit confusing at first because I continental style knit and she doesn't. But we worked it all out.

Another great thing is she realized I purl wrong to where it twists my stitches!!!!So she showed me an easy way to correct it!!! I guess since I taught myself and have never before knit with anyone I really had no clue.

So here are the yarns I bought!! She said they are the easiest to work with for my first couple pairs. Man i didn't realize sock yarn was so expensive!! Thought it would be a Little cheaper because it is so thin. So got my book, my VERY LONG 32" Addi Turbo circular, and the 3 yarns for a quick $98.00!!! Good thing I work full time because I have my own money. No way would my hubby be okay with my costly little hobby!! LOL Its my little secret

Hmm socks to be or not to be??

So i was reading Lazy Kate Creates Blog today. As I have for awhile. (Just love her blog). And she asked about our crafting fears. Got me thinking....... Yarn overs I LOVE to do. LOL But socks, man boy to I struggle there. I love looking at everyones socks and I love all the different sock yarns. They are so yummy. I look at the books on making socks all the time too. But I just cant talk myself into trying them. I taught myself how to knit and I do it continental style. So lots of books I have seen are for English knitting. Also I don't know what is easier, toe up, or something different.



So I guess I ask how to you begin with you first pair of socks?? Easiest pattern? Best yarn? And needles? I wouldn't even know where to begin. But oh how I would love to put a pair of knitted socks on my tosies!!!!

Love Me Some Buttons

Buttons Yeah!! I found a few that I love. I am really kind of picky about them. But know when I see them that I MUST have them!!

Just finished up the Hubbys blanket! He is such a baby and has been complaining that I make things for everyone else but him. Last night he cuddles up with it and is now happy!

I decided to start a gratitude shawl for Dustins grandma. I am using dove grey 70% silk/15% cotton/15% cashmere blend. I am finding it sort of difficult to work with but its so squishy and yummy. Wish me Luck!!
